A new version of RefWorks reference management tool





RefWorks is an online reference management tool that allows you to:

  • collect references from multiple databases into one place
  • create a bibliography
  • create citations
  • share reference folders.

Transition to new RefWorks

Move to the newest version of RefWorks. You can find instructions on this guide.


Some things to consider when moving on to the new version:

  • New version needs new registration. 
  • You may have accounts in both the new and the legacy version of RefWorks during 2018.  The accounts are separate from each other. 
  • You can transfer your references from old version to the new.
  • Special characters will not be transferred from old version to the new.
  • Also, notice that it is not possible to edit Word documents, which have previously been edited in Legacy RefWorks in new RefWorks. You may want to consider finishing your old projects with Legacy RefWorks and Write-N-Cite during 2018.
  • Template for Oamk bilbliographies has been transferred. Name of the template is Oamk.

Choose the correct version of RefWorks when importing references
